the re-launch of the kvarnen studio website involved a half-year long process that included evaluating the previous website, creating a new plan for web presence, gathering new types of content, doing information architecture, designing the site, and finally development and deployment.

the previous iteration of the site had focused on heavy use of images, but we decided that it was a better strategy to take more time to present the projects with descriptive text, as the studio’s core philosophy revolved heavily around the way they approach their projects. the addition of a case study section also allowed them to step through their entire design process rather than relying on the final product to explain their methodology.

we also added a small easter egg; if you click the sun in the top right hand corner of the page you’ll be given a link for good news – something the world doesn’t get nearly enough of!

this has been my largest web project to date, and it was a challenge and delight to take on the full spectrum of responsibilities from the first client meeting through to final launch of the site and maintenance.
